Welcome to our hive!
Thank you for visiting our page! This is going to "bee" a great year! We will be learning so much in kindergarten. One important thing we learn in kindergarten is to "bee kind." We will be working together, just like a colony of honeybees!
This is going to be a very special year and I am so grateful to be sharing it with your child. In kindergarten, we strive to teach our students to learn in a safe, nurturing environment. At Rochester Memorial School, we follow the CARES motto (Cooperation, Assertion, Responsibility, Empathy, and Self-Control). As part of the CARES motto, RMS utilizes the Responsive Classroom social curriculum to help guide our students to become independent thinkers while building a sense of community. Throughout the school day, we use language to remind, redirect, and reinforce student learning. We also utilize positive reinforcement, logical consequences, and breaks (as needed) as part of our classroom discipline. |
Kindness in words creates confidence.
Kindness in thinking creates profoundness.
Kindness in giving creates love."
